Planning Stage...

Can you imagine all the excitement and pageantry of Saturday Night at the local 3/8 mile semi-banked oval racetrack? When reality kicks in, you figure you can make a pretty neat short-track, something you can race against your son. He's still at that stage where he doesn't slow down for the sharp corners because he likes to watch the cars wipe-out. Having a mini-Sebring on the floor (at least the cars don't fall to their death) makes it difficult to get to the cars 10 feet away. This time I'm gonna build a portable layout, four lanes wide - that is a close scale representation of our local track.

They even have their own website (under construction) at (CharlotteCtySpeedway.com)

Slotcar Home - running on the floor for now
Sebring - the real thing and my track
Daytona - use up the left over track and banked turns
GatorNationals - fast & straight - built from scratch
Building Custom HO Race Cars - in 1:64 scale
Build an Open Wheel Modified - in 1:64 scale
Build a Sling Shot - classic dragster in 1:64 scale
Haul it to the Track - see what I just discovered
